About
Welcome to Traditionelles Japanisches Restaurant OSAKA, a hidden gem nestled in the vibrant city of Mannheim, Germany. Located at R7 31, this restaurant is not just a dining spot; it's a celebration of authentic Japanese culinary traditions. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in an atmosphere that balances elegance and conviviality, making it the perfect venue for a memorable dining experience.
The standout feature of OSAKA is its Teppanyaki, where skilled chefs showcase their artistry right before your eyes. Customers rave about the exhilarating performance as ingredients are transformed into culinary masterpieces on hot griddles. One delighted patron, Monique Rudman, exclaims it's "the best Hibachi I've had in Europe," accentuating the high-quality food served with flair. Whether you’re indulging in perfectly grilled prime beef cuts, or luxuriating in succulent scallops and lobster, each dish is a seamless blend of flavors and textures that leave a lasting impression.
Beyond the delicious food, the overall dining experience is elevated by thoughtful touches, like wearing kimonos during dinner. This charming detail not only adds a unique twist but also creates great photo opportunities, as noted by Allie Rogne. The staff are frequently praised for their kindness and attentiveness, ensuring that your glasses are never empty and your needs are always met.
However, it's essential to approach your dinner with an open mind. As Allie aptly points out, traditional Japanese Teppanyaki differs from its American counterpart, focusing on a refined culinary experience rather than flashy theatrics. This elegant dining experience, combined with welcoming service, sets OSAKA apart in Mannheim's diverse food scene. Indeed, many patrons express their eagerness to return, inspired by the engaging atmosphere and the delectable offerings.

“ We went here and had teppanyaki and I wasn't prepared for the show. I was surprised. They will cook it In front of you. So cool. Appetizer, soup and rice are included. must try and I could not wait for our next date. the staff were also so kind and accomodating. ”
“ The best Hibachi I've had in Europe!! We loved it, and the kimonos were such a great touch! We'll be back for sure. ”
“ Would come back anyday. Was lots of fun and nice experience. Quality of food was on point, cooking techniques were also super interesting. Prices were fair and adjusted. On the pricier side obviously but it's japanese after all - ingredients need to be shipped all around the world just to arrive in Mannheim. All in all can recommend. ”
“ Surprisingly good Teppanyaki in Mannheim. I didn’t expect a place like that in this city. It‘s a fun place. Not too classy, not too casual. I saw a few office groups, families as well as friends who enjoyed some event dining on a Friday night. Their signature are set menus that cover meat as well as fish or seafood. We had both. The meat was grilled to perfection. Especially the prime beef cuts. However, it was the seafood that proofed to be the king of the game. Awesome scallops and lobster. Service is super nice. Atmosphere is a bit more conventional than you‘d expect for a place like this. But still very nice. ”
“ American Review - OK! So, first of all, you need to know that there is a difference between American Hibachi and Teppanyaki. There are no silly onion volcano fires and such here. This is a more elegant experience focused on food preparation and overall experience. The food was delicious and affordable (for what we got), and the service was impeccable. Our glasses were always full! They were on it! I can personally highly recommend this establishment! Just leave your American expectations at home and enjoy the experience as something new. The Japanese robes we were given to wear during the dining experience were a nice, fun touch! It made for cute photos. Reservations recommended. ”
